De 21-jarige Kana heeft geen echte passie om iets te bereiken, weinig interesse in haar werk als schoonheidsspecialiste en weet simpelweg niet wat ze wil doen met haar leven. Ze wordt verliefd om de tijd door te komen, en wisselt het ene vriendje makkelijk in voor de volgende. Zij strijdt schaamteloos tegen een nog altijd rigide en patriarchale maatschappij. De soms hilarische, droge visuele stijl en het ingenieuze geluidsdesign brengen de claustrofobie van het moeten conformeren over, zoals zij die in Tokyo ervaart.

Twenty-one-year-old Kana has no real desire to achieve anything, little commitment to her work as a beautician, and simply does not know what she wants to do with her life. She falls in love to kill time and easily swaps one boyfriend for another. She unapologetically battles a society that is still rigid and patriarchal. The occasionally hilarious, dry visual style and ingenious sound design effectively convey the claustrophobic conformity she experiences in Tokyo.
