Hors-Saison is the enchanting new film by Stéphane Brizé (Un Autre Monde). After his trilogy about the struggles of the labor market, the director takes a different approach in this tender film set on the rugged Breton coast.
Mathieu (Guillaume Canet) lives in Paris, Alice (Alba Rohrwacher) lives in a small seaside town in western France. He is in his fifties and a famous actor, she is in her forties and a piano teacher. Fifteen years ago, they fell in love. But they went their separate ways, time passed, and wounds slowly healed. When Mathieu escapes his life at a spa, he coincidentally finds Alice again.
