De Warren is de eerste gerealiseerde zelfbouw-wooncoöperatie in Amsterdam en bestaat uit een collectief van 36 huishoudens. Deze bijzondere manier van samenwonen vraagt om een andere rol van architect, gemeente én bouwer. Zonder enige voorkennis wist het collectief zijn weg te vinden in het ontwikkelen, ontwerpen en bouwen van een collectief woongebouw. Maar tegen welke prijs? De Warren is the first completed self-built housing corporation in Amsterdam and consists of a collective of 36 households. This remarkable way of living together demands a different role from the architect, municipality and contractor. Without any prior knowledge, the collective succeeds in negotiating the process of developing, designing and building a collective residential building. But at what price?
