Het Nieuw-Zeelandse architectenduo Maurice Mahoney en Sir Miles Warren waren een duo die elkaar perfect aanvulden. Sir Miles, die met zijn creatieve uitspattingen projecten wist binnen te halen, en Mahoney als stille motor die alles tot in detail uitwerkt. Samen waren ze verantwoordelijk voor brutalistische parels op het eiland, waaronder het Christchurch Town Hall of the Performing Arts. Het concertgebouw wordt geroemd door internationale artiesten om de akoestische kwaliteiten, en inwoners van Christchurch beleven er memorabele concerten. In de verwoestende aardbeving van 2011 loopt het gebouw enige schade op, maar komt desondanks op een slooplijst te staan. Het inmiddels gepensioneerde duo, gesteund door een gepassioneerde groep inwoners, moet strijden om hun geliefde complex te behouden.

Sir Miles secured commissions withhis creative excesses, while Mahoney was the driving force who elaboratedeverything in detail. Together they were responsible for Brutalist gems on theisland, among them the Christchurch Town Hall of the Performing Arts. Theconcert hall is praised by international artists for its acoustic qualities,and the people of Christchurch enjoy memorable concerts there. Even though thebuilding suffers just slight damage in the devastating earthquake of 2011, itis still earmarked for demolition. The retired duo, supported by a passionate group of locals, campaign to preserve their beloved complex.
